Franklin Richey, D.B.A.

Franklin Rickey, Ph.D.

Dr. Richey has over 35 years experience in aviation as a professional pilot, educator, and curriculum developer. He is a former military and airline pilot with over 10,000 hours in twenty different aircraft and holds an FAA Airline Transport Pilot Airplane Certificate with Multi-engine Class Rating. During his academic career at Embry-Riddle he has taught 15 separate courses at both the graduate and undergraduate level in the traditional classroom and by using distance-learning technologies. He participated as a team leader of a group of specialized faculty that developed the plan for Embry-Riddle's applied aviation sciences degree programs and served as the Department Chair for this highly successful department for a number of years. He has been involved in a number of research projects with the use of ADS/B technology and using advanced computer software for modeling airports and airspace to assess airport capacity and delay. Since 2004, he has been the Associate Dean of the College of Aviation at the Daytona Beach Campus.
